Tybee Island Beach Bum Parade
The Beach Bum Parade might surprise the unsuspecting visitor. Like most parades, there are floats pulled behind cars and trucks. Unlike most parades, however, the floats, often trailers or boats, are filled with water-throwing paraphernalia. Spectators, lined up along the parade route on Butler Avenue, armed with buckets, squirt guns and hoses. What results is an all-out water war for fun loving beach bums of all ages./

Fireworks on the Pier
Tybee’s annual celebration of America’s birthday. Come early and plan to stay late as this is one of Tybee’s busiest days of the year and the island fills up fast. The show starts around dark thirty (around 9:15pm). The fireworks are staged on the pier, but they are easily viewed from any of Tybee’s eastern beaches.

New Year's Eve Fireworks
Bring in the New Year with a bang! Enjoy the show launched from the Tybee Pier at the stroke of midnight at one of Tybee’s many restaurants and bars, or watch it from the beach. It promises to be spectacular!

This event has become a Tybee tradition, held every January 1st at noon at the Pier on the south end of the island. Plan to be with us next year, invigorating your soul with a cleansing (and cold) plunge into the Atlantic. Come take the plunge, we are freezing for a reason. Come for the camaraderie, the fun, your face will hurt from smiling so much. It's the premiere family fun event. Funny hats and costumes are strongly encouraged. GET a group together of 4 or more for the NEW Gang of Goofs competition to win the coveted Le Goofs trophy. Fun will be had by all.
